2023 Bowl 4 the Goal

Location

George Pappas’ Liberty Lanes
2501 S York Rd
Gastonia, NC 28052

Event Information

Join us on May 20, 2023, at George Pappas’ Liberty Lanes, for an afternoon of fun and excitement at our first Bowl 4 the Goal fundraiser. Together, we rally with our community to raise $15,000 for our Student Emergency Assistance Program! Since financial aid does not cover all student expenses, the Gaston College Foundation developed the Student Emergency Assistance Program to provide students with funding due to an immediate need, prohibiting them from success.

All proceeds from this event will go toward the Gaston College Foundation and Student Emergency Funds.

Game Rules

9-Pin No-Tap: While playing 9-pin no-tap, hitting down just 9 pins is the same thing as hitting down all ten in regular ten-pin bowling. If you knock down all but one pin, you will receive a strike on the scoreboard, the remaining pin will be swept, and it will be the next bowler’s turn with a fresh rack of pins. If more than one pin is standing after the first throw, you have to hit the spare as normal.

Tournament Play: Each team will have the opportunity to play three games. The top score from your team’s three rounds will be taken and placed on the leaderboard. The team with the highest score wins!

Check-In / Schedule

Student Impact

“I was struggling to make my final payment due to some unexpected expenses. I worked two part-time jobs as a paramedic, and It was hard to pick up days to work when nursing school was in full swing while having to find a sitter for my three children. I was a good student who never dropped or failed classes. The Student Emergency Assistance Program ensured that I could pay my remaining tuition in total so I can graduate without a financial burden looming over me so I could focus in the classroom.”
