Every year Altrusa of Gastonia purchases over $5000 worth of shoes for Gaston County school children in need. Remaining funds are distributed to local non-profits like Cancer Services, Loray Girls’ Home, Voices for Kids, United Way, The Arc Of Gaston County, Gaston College Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, Rotary Community Garden, and the Pauline Scruggs Memorial Scholarships at Gaston College.
